MySQLのインストールに関する質問です。

まず、私の使っている環境を書いておきます。

RedHat Linux7.1
kernel 2.4.2-2
gcc-2.96.84(Redhat用rpmを使ってインストールしました)
apache-1.3.22（ソースからコンパイルしました）
----------------------------------

mysql-3.23.45をソースからコンパイルして解凍
インストールしようと思っています。
mysql-3.23.45.tar.gzをダウンロードし、解凍まで行いました。

解凍を行ったところで、mysql-3.23.45というディレクトリができたので
そのディレクトリに移動して
./configureを実行するとコンパイルエラーが出ます。

その解決法がわかりませんので、教えて下さいませんでしょうか？
